A special gift from daddy ("& Kirby"), symbolic time to move on and get started.

December 30, 2003
Application sent to America World Adoption Association in McLean, Virginia.

January 13, 2004
It's official, we began the adoption process with AWAA, the "paper pregnancy".

February 17, 2004
First Home Study appointment.

February 19, 2004
Second Home Study appointment.

February 22, 2004
Third Home Study appointment.

March 1, 2004
Fourth and final Home Study appointment.

March 11, 2004
Received the final version of our Home Study Report.

March 24, 2004
BCIS finger print appointment in Charleston, South Carolina.

April 1, 2004
Blood tests, no fun for Temple!

April 25, 2004
Home study Finally mailed off to Atlanta office of the BCIS.

May 21, 2004
Approved by Homeland Security, BCIS (whatever they were that week), for Adoption from China.

May 24, 2004
Received H-171 in the mail.

May 27, 2004
To Columbia, SC for Secretary of State Authentication.

May 28, 2004
Dossier off to Washington to the US Secretary of State, and then forwarded to the Chinese Embassy.

June 1, 2004
Dossier arrives at State Department.

June 4, 2004
Dossier leaves State Department for Chinese Embassy.

June 7, 2004
Dossier arrives at Chinese Embassy.

June 10, 2004
Dossier leaves Chinese Embassy headed back to us.

June 14, 2004
Dossier arrives back in Cheraw.

June 15, 2004
Dossier off to AWAA.

June 18, 2004
Dossier off to China.

June 25, 2004
Dossier officially logged into the China Center for Adoption Affairs, and the wait begins.

December 13, 2004
REFERRAL DAY ! After a long wait, we received our call that Kirby was waiting for us in Shanggao, Jiangxi Province, China.
